Roy Reid is an accredited and award-winning public relations counselor with a successful background in the corporate, government and consulting arenas. Roy has earned a reputation as a strong strategic planner and counselor and has solved numerous challenging crisis, competitive and public affairs issues. His clients include Fortune 500 companies, private equity firms, professional service firms and public agencies. Roy joined Consensus after leading the corporate communications team for Florida Hospital, the state’s largest not-for-profit hospital system.

As a partner in the firm, he advised clients on many high profile, high stakes initiatives including the following:

1. The Orange County Convention Center’s $178 million Phase V expansion and construction communication plans for the community, customers and key constituents
2. Broad and Cassel’s statewide marketing and public relations programs
3. Progress Energy’s Issues Management program, communication efforts for the 2004 Hurricane season and communication planning for the 2005 rate case with the Public Service Commission
4. Florida’s Blood Centers’ acquisition of the South Florida Blood Bank and expansion into Palm Beach, Broward and Dade Counties
5. Florida Hospital Memorial Division’s communication program for the acquisition of a new Certificate of Need in Volusia County
6. Florida Space Authority’s crisis communications program and re-branding efforts

He is a leader in the industry and has held numerous leadership positions for the Public Relations Society of America, including Orlando Regional Chapter President. Roy is a frequent presenter and speaker on numerous topics related to business, strategy and communications. He serves on a number of community boards.

Roy earned a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Communications from the University of Central Florida, where he also served as Student Body President. He has worked at Carlman Booker Public Relations, Orange County Public Schools, Custom Micro Systems, Volusia Medical Center and Orlando Regional Healthcare Foundation.
