June 2, 2010; Orlando, Fla. ― Consensus Communications is proud to announce that Vice President and Partner Roy W. Reid, Jr., APR, has recently earned the Certified Public Relations Counselor (CPRC) credential from the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA).
The CPRC serves to recognize professional growth and achievement of senior members who have earned the APR designation. Candidates for CPRC must be a member of FPRA and have a minimum of 10 years of professional practice in public relations. The certification process includes proving experience in developing and implementing successful, comprehensive public relations programs, the ability to use experience and knowledge to develop case study responses and the ability to make a 30-minute presentation demonstrating the ability to present a public relations plan and gain acceptance and support for it.
Reid is a leading authority on improving results by improving relationships through a greater emphasis on cultivating trust. He works with business leaders and organizations as a counselor, strategist and coach to grow, maintain and protect their interests. He is a sought after public speaker on numerous business topics including trust, issues management, crisis communications, ethics, and change. He is the creator/author of Outrageous Trust® a program designed to work with leaders and within organizations to achieve better business outcomes through improving relationships.
Reid joined Consensus Communication in 2000, to start the firm’s corporate public relations practice. As a partner with Consensus, he has advised clients in a broad range of industries on many high profile, high stakes issues and initiatives. He counts among his clients a number of the region and state’s leading business and community leaders and has played a significant role in several projects that have helped shape Central Florida’s short-and long-term future.
He is a leader in the industry and has held numerous leadership positions for the Florida Public Relations Society of America (FPRA) Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), including Orlando Regional Chapter President. In 2007, Reid received the UCF College of Business Administration Professional Achievement Award. In 2008, PRSA Orlando awarded him with the Frank R. Stansberry Ethics Award in recognition of his commitment to principled business practices. In 2010, he was inducted into UCF’s Nicholson School of Communication Hall of Fame.
