Michelle Edwards is an accomplished, accredited public relations counselor with extensive experience in all facets of communications and across a broad range of industries. She is known for her ability to forge strategic relationships and build consensus. She successfully provides clients with strategic planning and positioning, corporate identity and reputation management, and crisis communications and issues management. Michelle is the owner of The Edwards Group, a public relations consulting firm, and currently serves as Of Counsel for Consensus Communications.

Michelle has handled complex and challenging matters for clients including: crisis and media communications during a controversial acquisition of a client’s competitor; internal and external communications in the wake of bankruptcy and reorganization; development and implementation of internal communications programs to support ISO certification; and strategy and branding for healthcare, technology, financial, and professional services clients.

Most recently, Michelle was a partner with the public relations and marketing firm The Vaughan Edwards Group. She has served as Director of Marketing and Business Development for the statewide law firm of Broad and Cassel, Senior Account Manager with Consensus Communications, a leading public relations and political consulting firm, Director of Communications for the Central Florida Chapter of the American Red Cross, and in numerous corporate communications capacities for Florida Hospital.

Michelle is an active member of the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission, bioOrlando, the Florida Society of Healthcare Marketing and Public Relations (FSHPRM). She also is active with the Orlando Regional Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and currently serves on the Board of Directors as Vice President of Finance. She is a graduate of Leadership Orlando and Leadership Seminole. In 2008, Michelle was recognized by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as one of its Greatest Night honorees.

Michelle earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations/Journalism from Marshall University and has completed course work towards an MBA.
